Who is Prep U?

Prep U was launched in Austin, TX, by founder and CEO Michelle Houp, mother of two active boys, who was seeking all-natural, high-quality personal care products for boys ages 8-17 that could guide them through the transitional years between toddler and adult.

Prep U products are made without parabens, dyes, sulfates, aluminum, synthetic fragrances, phthalates, genetically modified organisms, nanoparticles, or gluten. They are also not tested on animals. We only select ingredients from companies who do not test on animals, and when we are in the process of developing new products, we only test them out with human volunteers.

Target Good Hygiene

How did you come up with the name “Prep U”?
Because “Hey buddy, you stink and I can’t take it anymore” doesn’t quite roll off the tongue! In all seriousness, the name comes from the mission we set out to achieve – to help boys prepare for a lifetime of good hygiene, personal care routines, and healthy self-confidence inspired by self-sufficiency.

How do you select ingredients for your products?

We carefully select ingredients that are found in nature, sensitive on skin, tough on sweat and odors, and independently verified to be safe and effective.

Do your products contain synthetic fragrances?
